Detailed PESTLE Analysis of ADNOC

The detailed PESTLE analysis for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is presented below:

POLITICAL

  1. Political instability war and terrorism tensions in the Middle East: The Middle East has reigned the ranks as one of the most unstable regions on the globe, and there are no indications of peace at least in the near future. This instability has been born out of ongoing conflicts and tensions, and a variety of political tensions and factions. The turmoil and unrest hovering over the EMEA region can also be attributed to a wide variety of long-term pressures growing out of poor governance, corruption, economic failures, demographic pressures and other forces within the civil sector. Lion’s share of the hinterland is seeing internal feuds, crossing of swords between governments, facing rising external threats, or is dealing with violent extremism. Fiscal 2016 reported the occurrence of 2,965 terrorist attacks in Iraq, 1,342 in Afghanistan, and 366 in Syria. In sharp contrast, all of western Europe saw 30 terrorist attacks during the same year. Though the Global Terrorism Database notes that the number of terrorist attacks in Europe is rising, the situation in the Middle East is exponentially worse—a region where attacks are essentially a part of daily life for many citizens. The recent drone attack on Saudi Aramco, the world's largest crude-processing facility, in September 2019, claimed by Yemen's Houthi rebels, miserably cut the kingdom's crude produce into half and sent prices spiraling to the highest peaks in decades. UAE has also been involved with Saudi in attacking Yemen. These tensions may also impact UAE and ADNOC’s oil business.

Al Reyadah’s flagship launch, with Emirates Steel Industries, will utilize and sequester 800,000 tons of CO2 annually.
