About Aegean Airlines S.A. :
Aegean Airlines S.A. is the national carrier of Greece. Since June 2010, it has been a member of the Star Alliance. It offers scheduled and charter flights from Athens and Thessaloniki to a variety of European and Middle Eastern locations as well as other important Greek cities. Athens International Airport in Athens, Macedonia International Airport in Thessaloniki, and Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus are its principal hubs. In addition, it bases itself at various other Greek airports, some of which are seasonal. Its headquarters are in Kifisia, an Athens suburb. Aegean Airlines was founded in 1987 as Aegean Aviation. At the prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards, AEGEAN was named the Best Regional Airline in Europe. This is the 11th year in a row that AEGEAN Airlines has received this top regional award from their passengers, and it coincides with another strong performance in the overall World's Best Regional Airline section, with an excellent 2nd place position. In August 2022, Aegean Airlines struck a code-share agreement with Emirates. As of 2023, there are more than 2,300 employees in Aegean Airlines.
The USP of Aegean airlines lies in it being the largest airline in Greece in terms of fleet size, destinations served, and overall passenger traffic. Aegean Airlines’ mission is “To travel our passengers with safety, continuously providing services of high standards across all travel stages, through an extensive network of destinations, which connects every corner of Greece and Greece with the world.” Aegean Airlines’ vision reads “To act responsibly in developing the market, evolving our employees, supporting our partners and local communities.”

Detailed SWOT Analysis of Aegean Airlines S.A.
Strength
1. Competitive advantage of low average age of aircraft: Aegean continually makes investments in cutting-edge aircraft, control systems, technical support, and staff training. The order for up to 42 new generation aircraft of the A320neo family from Airbus was announced in June 2018 and is the largest private investment in Greece, valued at $5 billion USD. Its objective is to keep making investments in its fleet and to strengthen the low average age of its aircraft, which is one of its key competitive advantages. The Technical Department, made up of skilled and knowledgeable aircraft technicians, mechanics, and aeronautical/mechanical engineers, meticulously maintains its fleet on a daily basis in its contemporary hangar facilities. The most advanced safety systems, such as TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) and TAWS, are installed in every aircraft in Aegean's fleet (Terrain Awareness and Warning System). Additionally, Aegean is concerned about the environment and continually makes improvements to lower noise levels, emissions, and fuel usage. The fleet of Aegean includes 27 AIRBUS A320, 1 AIRBUS A319, 2 DASH 8 100, 3 ATR 42-600, and 9 ATR 72-600 in addition to 7 AIRBUS A320neo, 11 AIRBUS A321neo, 8 AIRBUS A321 and 27 AIRBUS A320.
2. Strong technical bases to serve increased passenger capacity: Aegean Airlines has made significant investments in its technical bases to accommodate the growing passenger capacity. The company's technical base in Athens has undergone expansion and modernization, with the addition of a new maintenance hangar and other facilities. This investment has allowed Aegean Airlines to efficiently handle maintenance and servicing of its aircraft.
