POLITICAL

  1. China-US trade war may result in hindrances: Hollywood has its eye set on Chinese’s broadening film selection, but the trade war between China and the United States may impact that acquisition. If this situation continues, Hollywood will be unsuccessful in gaining access to the increased revenue-sharing of these foreign films. The relationship between both countries has considerable tension, which can impact the exporting and importing of foreign films.

Frequent lockdowns and restrictions imposed on theatres have resulted in large losses. Due to political instability, the demand for cinema has gone down. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war or any other wars or attacks for that matter, may significantly have an impact on AMC theatres as people would be reluctant to step out of their houses and go to the theatres.
