The Swatch Group Ltd is an international Swiss manufacturer of luxury watches and jewelry with its headquarters based in Biel, Switzerland. In 1998, SMH (Swiss Corporation for Microelectronics and Watch-making Industries Ltd.), was founded by Nicolas G. Hayek post the merger of Swiss watchmakers ASUAG and SSIH and was rebranded as the “The Swatch Group”. The leader, Nicholas G. Hayek, led the firm’s recovery from severe crisis and elevated the brand to being one of the most successful in the watch-making industry. As of 2020, the Company employs approximately 36100 people from over 50 countries. In addition to the Swatch product line, the Group also owns various other brands like Blancpain, Breguet, Omega, Tissot, Glashutte Original, Harry Winston and RADO. The Swatch Group is also actively invested in safeguarding the environment through their practice of sustainability and conservation. Moreover, measures to reduce energy and resource consumption are some of their seminal focus areas.
The Swatch Group’s unique selling proposition or USP lies in being the number manufacturer of finished watches in the world. Its mission statement reads,” The Swatch Group is dedicated to developing professional watchmakers and future sales service leaders for the Swiss watch industry.”

Portfolio of prestigious brands covering all price segments and consumer preferences: Swatch Group actively designs, manufactures and sells finished watches, jewelry, watch movements and components at a global scale.it is the world’s largest watchmaking group. Its prominent brands include Harry Winston, Omega, Rado, TISSOT, Hamilton, Calvin Klein, flik flak, Swatch and many more. The various brands are designed while keeping the customers in the mind so as to provide the best value to the customers. Having such a huge brand portfolio also helps Swatch Group to attract and retain the customers. It also supplies components to almost all of its 18 watch brands and also supplies movements and components to third party watchmakers in Switzerland and around the world.
2. Strong store retail and digital presence: Swatch has always been innovative with its retail presence to provide high-end experience through its POS. In 2019, it also started its first Dive-Thru Swatch store in Biel/Bienne. There were multiple new stores openings and relocations in all popular places like malls, airport, shopping landmarks etc. across various countries. Swatch has also strengthened its digital presence through online sales and partnerships with firms like Amazon, Myntra, Momoshop and La Moda. The e-commerce markets are continuously expanding with new openings in countries like Argentina, Thailand and Ireland. The brand has mastered the new retail experience which was confirmed by the successful omni-channel launch of brands like Swatch X Bape and Big Bold.
