Weakness

1. High pension spending: Boeing's benefits stack remained at a strong $75 billion or more toward the finish of a year ago, much more than the reasonable estimation of its arrangement's advantages. 1. Aviation deals with Canada and Iran under threat from Trump administration policies: The Trump administration has taken an aggressive stance with respect to international trade policies and deals which may also backfire on the United States in terms of its companies losing out on business. The ongoing subsidy dispute with Bombardier on the C-series aircraft is like to impact Boeing’s defense sales to Canada. The orders from Iran Air for Boeing’s commercial jets is also delayed due to the heightened tension between the two countries which may ultimately result in cancellation of the order.

Dramatic growth in commercial air travel: According to International Air Transport Association (IATA) research the number of passengers travelling by air is expected to double of the next 20 years from 3.8 billion air travelers in 2016 to 7.2 billion passengers to travel in 2035. The number of aircrafts in service is also slated to increase from 27,000 aircraft in 2017 to an estimated 47,000 by 2030.
