  1. Impact of fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates and inflation: The price of imported goods is directly proportional to the change in the exchange rates. When the exchange rate increased the prices of the imported goods also increases and vice-versa. Since A&F operates internationally, it is exposed to foreign currency exchange rate risk with respect to the company’s sales, profits and other operations denominated in currencies other than the U.S dollar. Moreover, a few of the company’s subsidiaries handle their operations in currencies other than their primary currency, including intercompany transactions, which results in foreign currency transaction gains or losses.
