Detailed PESTLE Analysis of Ansell

The detailed PESTLE analysis for Ansell Ltd. is presented below:

POLITICAL

  1. Growing protectionist tendencies in world leadership: Government efforts to stop the COVID-19 pandemic's spread immediately affected trade and border crossings. The sudden, existential threat of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a variety of trade responses. The International Trade Centre describes these as "temporary trade measures that aim to restrict exports of essential medical supplies" and mentions tariffs, regulations, and "vaccine nationalism" as examples. Restrictions are in effect right away for ventilators, PPE, and core components. Protectionist policies by some of the world leaders in key geographies that Ansell operates in including the USA, can adversely affect Ansell’s prospects going forward.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  1. Initiatives towards eco-friendly packaging: Environmentally friendly packaging depends on continuing to use the right materials and create the right packaging. The product functionality that end-users in the industry and healthcare sectors depend on is safeguarded by Ansell's packaging. Information on pertinent product-related regulatory aspects is included on packaging. Single-use packaging serves an important purpose, but because it is discarded immediately after use, it generates waste that customers must manage in accordance with their respective local waste management programmes. Packaging for industrial and healthcare products is generally made of recyclable materials; some pulp-based materials also contain recycled material. Plastic film is made with a complex, multi-layered construction to shield surgical glove products from contamination. Therefore, it is in the user's best interest for the packaging to use lower impact raw materials in its design as opposed to eliminating the plastic film. As a result, Ansell constantly reviews the packaging that it designs and prepares for its products in an effort to minimise any negative environmental effects.
