About Bunge

Bunge is global agro business and food processing company, head quartered in WhitePlains, UnitedStates. It is founded in 1818 by Johann P. G. Bunge. The company has expanded its global presence in farm to consumer food chain by connecting farmers to local and global markets around the world. It is conducting operations in five segments: Agribusiness, Edible Oil products, Milling Products, Sugar and Bioenergy and Fertilizers. Bunge operates in more than 40 countries and has over 360 facilities which comprises of 32 port terminals, 51 oilseed processing plants, 117 food and ingredient production facilities, and more than 160 grain elevators. It has approximately 34 brands in some of the world’s largest markets including North America, Argentina, India, Europe, and Brazil. As of early 2021, the company has approximately 24,000 employees in all its facilities. Bunge is ranked 289 in 2021 Global 500.

It helps in expansion of business and enhance operations in existing portfolios in an organization. For example, in USA, Trump Government lifted away the currency controls and cut export taxes. Hence, the exporters and producers of farms will now be able to convert their returns to US dollars without any restrictions. Also, the export tax on soya beans and its byproducts is reduced by 5% and eliminated export tax for most of the agricultural commodities, which can be leveraged most by farmers as well as private firms.
