Detailed SWOT Analysis of Merlin

The detailed SWOT analysis for Merlin Entertainments is presented below:

Strength

  1. Strategic Synergies: The brand has focused on creating strategic synergy in order to indicate the added value of shared resources or cost. The Merlin Annual Pass has given the owners the privilege to visit all the attractions in that country for a nominal fee throughout a year. They have launched the pass in key geographies where they observed a scope for significant growth. This has led them to drive customer loyalty and brand awareness. In addition to this, Merlin Entertainments has also signed an agreement with Accesso. This agreement, called the Accesso Roll Out, has led to the implementation of its passport ticketing system across all Merlin attractions. Merlin has seen significantly higher revenues and improved performance following this move. Merlin also launched Group Promotions that included promotional discounts and national marketing campaigns along with partners in order to build the brand profile by leveraging on the benefit of low- cost advertising. This also led them to conduct successful campaigns in UK. The future opportunities were encashed through online new channels.
  2. Strong Guest Satisfaction KPI’s: Merlin Entertainment has succeeded in keeping its guest satisfaction figures well above its target. Between the years 2013 and 2018, nearly 50% of its guests have acclaimed its attractions to be of a world class level. Merlin maintains a guest satisfaction record through several Product Excellence teams on both a local as well as central level. Guests also have the option of inputting feedback directly via touch screen located within the attraction venues. These steps have enabled Merlin to achieve a 95% guest satisfaction score in 2018.
